Finite Element Analysis
Our client needed to understand why their railway antennas were failing during high current safety tests.
We solved the fully coupled thermoelectric problem by building a finite element model using imported CAD geometry. Our models were able to demonstrate that high local temperature rises in sensitive regions were responsible for the failures.
The component geometries were re-designed and some alterations to the manufacturing process were suggested and implemented. The current iteration successfully passed the safety test.
